SAUVIGNAC trocken Edesheimer Rosengarten 2020
The Anselmann family has a long winegrowing history. High quality and very appetizing wines are produced in the winery located in the southern Pfalz. This is documented by high awards and commendations at national and international level.
The mild climate of the region allows the cultivation of wine and fruit such as figs, kiwis, apricots, peaches, almonds and sweet chestnuts. The Weingut Werner Anselmann located in one of the idyllic villages, Edesheim, is one of the largest and most famous family wineries with vineyards in different areas at the southern wine road. The combination of a permanent temperature in the summer and a mosaic of soils consisting of sandstone, loam and clay offers the ideal conditions for many grape varieties. Among them sauvignac, an interspecific new breed, resulting from the crossbreeding between sauvignon and riesling and a hybrid whose identity is unknown. Sauvignac produces white wines with fruity aromas and a nice acidity and belongs to the new generation of Piwis. Piwis are fungus-resistant varieties that show resistance to the pathogens in viticulture and make it possible to significantly limit the use of pesticides. Edesheimer Rosengarten is a nice example of this new white grape.
The wine has a bright yellow color with deep green reflections. Aromatic on the nose with fruity notes such as gooseberry, fern, green apple and citrus, slightly spicy in evolution. Also the taste remembers highly the sauvignon type with a crisp acidity, straight, a fresh and juicy palate, well balanced with fresh fruit and a lingering finish. Perfect wine to enjoy with friends and small appetizers.
