SUMMERWOOD WINERY DIOSA 2018

Paso Robles, between San Francisco and Los Angeles, along California’s Central Coast, houses the Summerwood winery. Warm days with maritime breezes and cool nights combined with a great diversity of soils result in optimal growing conditions for premium wine grapes

The viticulture includes minimal irrigation, low yields and respect for the land. The vineyards are located on the West side of Paso Robles, mostly in the Willow Creek and Templeton Gap regions. Two categories are designed, including varietal wines. These wines are examples of the individual grape’s character. The flagship wines are blends created to accompany great dishes.

Diosa is a wonderful blend with 76% syrah, 15% Mourvèdre and 9% grenache, reminding of the style of the French Rhône valley. The wine opens with a brilliant red color and flashes of purple. In the nose, aromas reveal wild berries and dried flowers with a savory note of smoke, toasty oak, thyme and menthol. Intense and spicy on the palate, succulent, developing a nice structure with suave tannins together with subtle toasty oak notes and a long warm finish showing great winemaking. Serve this wine at lower temperatures.
