Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit or register a product on vinitaste.com (the “Site”).

Monde Selection SPRL is committed to protect your privacy and takes its responsibilities regarding the security of customer personal information very seriously. For more detailed information about privacy legislation, please do not hesitate to read the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of Personal Information and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC).

Personal information we collect

We collect Device Information using the following technologies:

– “Log files” track actions occurring on the Site, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.
– “Web beacons”, “tags”, and “pixels” are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the Site.

Additionally when you register a product or attempt to register a product through the Site, we collect certain information about you and your company, including contact names, billing address, shipping address, payment information (including credit card numbers), email address, position, phone number and product information. We refer to this information as “Registration Information”.

Finally, when you contact our customer service or anyone of the Vinitaste staff, we may keep a record of that correspondence and collect the necessary information to classify your question, respond to it and, if applicable, investigate any breach of this Policy.

When we talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are talking both about Device Information and Registration Information.

How do we use your personal information?

We use the Registration Information that we collect generally to operate the evaluation on any product registered through the Site (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or registration confirmations). Additionally, we use this Registration Information to:
– Communicate with you;
– Screen our registration for potential risk or fraud; and
– When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.
– Publish the results of the Awarded products Online.

We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).

Sharing you personal Information

We share your Personal Information with third parties to help us use your Personal Information, as described above. Your rights

Additionally, if you are a European resident we note that we are processing your information in order to fulfil contracts we might have with you (for example if you make a registration through the Site), or otherwise to pursue our legitimate business interests listed above. Additionally, please note that your information will be transferred outside of Europe, including to Canada and the United States.

If you are a European resident, you have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted.
Access to and modification or deletion of your Personal Information is free of charge. You may review, update, modify or delete your Personal Information at any time. If and to the extent provided under applicable Belgian and European law, you shall have the right:

  • to obtain from Vinitaste confirmation as to whether or not your Personal Information is being processed and, where that is the case, you shall have the right to access such Personal Information being processed;
  • to obtain from Vinitaste, without undue delay, the rectification of inaccurate or incomplete Personal Information;
  • to obtain from Vinitaste the erasure of Personal Information;
  • to obtain from Vinitaste the restriction of processing of your Personal Information;
  • to receive the Personal Information in a structured and commonly used, machine-readable format and have such Personal Information transmitted;
  • to object to processing of your Personal Information and to object at any time and without any justification to the processing of your Personal Information and/or to the transmission of your Personal Information to third parties for direct marketing purposes (including profiling).

If and to the extent provided under applicable Belgian and European law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the authorized supervisory authority (the Data Protection authority), should you consider that the processing of your Personal Information infringes applicable law, by sending an email to the authorized supervisory authority.

Data retention

When you place a product registration through the Site, we will maintain your Registration Information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information.

Changes

We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons.

Legislation and competent courts

This Policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the Belgian legislation that is exclusively applicable to any potential dispute. Any dispute arising under, or in connection with, this Policy shall be settled exclusively by the competent courts of Brussels, Belgium.
