CAVA RESERVA FAMILIA BLANC DE NOIRS 2020

Despite the somewhat strange name of the company, U Mes U Fan Tres (formerly known as 1+1=3), located in Font-Rubí, in the Alt Penedès region, this estate is one of the few wineries that bottles its own production. Since the beginning in 2000, they are elaborating wines with a distinctive character, far from conventional products.

In 2014, for the first time, no sulphite-added cava was produced. Since 2018 all their wines and cavas have the organic certification. At present, twenty hectares are planted with a variety of local and French grapes such as pinot noir, the basic varietal of this brut natural sparkling wine.  With immense precision, grapes are carefully harvested by hand from the vineyards in the highest area of Penedès, at an altitude of 400 meters. Alcoholic fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks, then bottled and aged for 24 months to produce the reserva. The 1+1=3 family is the historical brand and reflects the philosophy that the whole project is more than the sum of its parts.

Blanc de noirs has intense aromas of ripe white fruit and hints of spice, well balanced with soft biscuity notes. Fresh, precise and vibrant on the palate with a soft and delicate creamy texture: an enjoyable wine that goes with a wide range of fish.
